Discussion
There is a Ridge of High Pressure that is anchored over the Central Plains that
stretches into Louisiana. With High Pressure, comes clear skies, light &
variable winds and low rain chances. This pattern is typical during the summer
months. So, we will only see a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms
during the afternoon. This Ridge will move out of the area throughout the
overnight hours and tomorrow. However, we can expect to see gradually
increasing clouds and rising rain chances through the weekend. Winds will be
light and variable with high humidity values.
For the rest of the day
Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with In & Out cloud cover and a
slight chance for showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and early
evening. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90's with high humidity
values making it feel 105. Most of the viewing area will see partly cloudy
skies and there will only be a few, scattered showers. As of 12:00pm, there was
not any rain in the area. Winds will remain light to moderate and out of the
South throughout the day. Overnight, expect some clearing with tapering rain
chances and a muggy feel.
For the rest of the 7day planner
During the next couple of days we will see rain chances go up, throughout the
weekend. High temperatures will continue to range through the 90's through the
7day planner. However, high humidity values will make conditions feel much
hotter than they are. Peak Heat Index values may reach 108 at times.
TODAY...Mostly sunny to partly cloudy
skies and hot with a (30%) chance for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.
Highs 92-98. The peak heat index may reach 105. SW wind 2-10mph, except
stronger and variable near storms.
THURSDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy and muggy. Lows
73-79. South wind 2-6 mph.
