Marksville To Feature New York Times Author

BATON ROUGE, La. - Nationally-recognized keynote speaker Dr. Robert Kuttner is scheduled to host the LAE's Tax Policy and Corporate Loopholes Symposium in Marksville on July 23 at 9:30 a.m.

In a career spanning journalism, scholarship, and public service, Kuttner is best known for his accomplishments as chief investigator of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, economics editor of The New Republic, columnist for The Boston Globe, Washington Post, BusinessWeek, and New York Times, and executive director of President Carter's National Commission on Neighborhoods.

He is the author of several books dealing with economic and labor theory, and has appeared as a commentator—usually offering a liberal counterpoint—on numerous public affairs and debate programs, including National Public Radio, The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, Firing Line, Debates-Debates, Crossfire, and NOW on PBS.
