Posted: Updated:

VERNON PARISH, La. - The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office has a new program that's designed to help save lives called Project Loved One.

The service is designed for those with Alzheimer's, dementia and other mental impairments.

Family members provide vital information about their loved ones to help locate them if they should become lost or disoriented.

The concept has become so popular that other police agencies in Cenla are considering similar programs.

For more information, call the sheriff's office at 337-238-7248 or 337-238-1311.
