Discussion
A ridge of high pressure extends into our area. With that being said conditions
will not change much throughout the next several days. With High Pressure, we
can expect clear skies, light & variable winds and low rain chances. This
pattern is typical during the summer months. So, we will only see a slight
chance for a few showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. This Ridge will
remain anchored over our area throughout the 7day planner. Temperatures will be
on the rise and Humidity values will stay high. This will keep our Heat Index
ranging from 100-108 throughout the next several days. Winds will be light to
moderate and mainly out of the South with high humidity values.
For the rest of the day
Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with In & Out cloud cover and a
slight chance for showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and early
evening. High temperatures will range through the 90's with high humidity
values making the "Feels Like Temperature" range from 101-106. Most of the
viewing area will see partly cloudy skies and there will only be a few, isolated
showers. As of 12:00pm, there were only a few light showers in the area of
Beauregard Parish. Winds will remain light to moderate and out of the South
throughout the day. Overnight, expect some clearing with tapering rain chances
and a muggy feel with light and variable winds.
For the rest of the 7day planner
During the next couple of days we will see rain chances gradually decrease even
more. Meanwhile, temperatures will be on the rise. By the end of the work week,
expect high temperatures in the mid to upper 90's with Heat Indices ranging
from 105-110.
TODAY...Some early fog is possible,
otherwise mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with a slight (20%) chance for
isolated, afternoon showers and a thunderstorm or two. Highs 91-97. The peak
heat index may reach 105. S/SE wind24-10 mph.
TUESDAY
NIGHT...Fair to partly cloudy skies and seasonal. Lows 72-78. Light &
Variable wind.
