RAPIDES PARISH, La. - The Rapides Parish Library System is collecting clothing to help boys and girls go back to school.
There are donation boxes at all 10 library branches.
The program's goal is to collect as many items as possible by the end of July.
That will allow enough time for families in need to receive the donations before the new school year begins.
Officials say there are more than 900 children in the parish who are considered homeless and need school supplies.
