Tropical Depression #5
The fifth tropical depression of the 2012 hurricane season has officially formed in the Atlantic. As of right now the storm has sustained winds of 35 mph and a pressure of 1008 mb. It is currently located about 800 miles to the east of the Windward Islands and is moving WNW at 18 mph.
The storm is expected to continue moving to the W or WNW over the next few days.The official National Hurricane Center forecast has depression #5 strengthening into a hurricane around the beginning of next week after entering the Caribbean. The forecast after that is still uncertain. Some computer models have the storm entering the western Gulf of Mexico, while others have it moving towards the Yucatan Peninsula and then weakening.
