BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU has reported for fall camp, and coach Les Miles says he hopes his players have learned from the challenges they dealt with a season ago.
Before the Tigers even played a game last season, they dealt with a change in offensive coordinators due to Steve Kragthorpe's Parkinson's disease diagnosis, the suspension of a receiver Russell Shepard for breaking NCAA rules and a bar fight that led to then-starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson's suspension.
LSU still won 13 games before losing to Alabama in the national title game.
Miles says everything appears to be going smoothly now, but history shows a crisis can arise without notice.
LSU also has one late roster addition. Quarterback Rob Bolden has transferred from scandal-plagued Penn State and will compete for a backup role.
