Man Arrested For Indecent Behavior In Two States

Posted: Updated:

DUSON, La. — Police arrested and charged a man for indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation of a minor in Louisiana and New York.

Authorities say they arrested 52-year-old Rickey Matte Thursday, and booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail.

Matte, of 201 3rd Street in Duson, was the target of a multi-state investigation involving the Attorney General's High Technology Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units, the Suffolk County Police Department in New York, Louisiana State Police and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.

Matte is accused of using the internet to chat with an 11-year-old New York girl whose mother notified New York authorities when she became aware of the online communication between Matte and the child.

After it was determined that Matte was a resident of Louisiana, Suffolk County Police Department contacted the Louisiana Attorney General's Office to continue the investigation.  According to reports, the evidence found at Matte's residence links him to the crime and indicates that he may have chatted with multiple other juveniles.

This is an ongoing investigation.
