ALEXANDRIA, La. – Deputies from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office followed up on a tip of reported drug sales at the corner of Dallas and Lee Streets.

Terreance Terrell Wright, 21, of 1616 Dallas Street in Alexandria, was arrested Wednesday for possession of crack cocaine to distribute in June and flight from an officer.

He was taken into custody after a short foot chase. He was found in possession of approximately $650 worth of crack cocaine, police say.

On Jones Street, deputies also responded to a complaint about crack cocaine being sold from 3703 Jones Street.

Police went to the residence and contacted Jacqueline Balthazar, who was sitting in the carport.  According to reports, police saw a plastic bag containing several pieces of suspected crack cocaine in plain view under a table beside her.  She was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession CDS II crack cocaine.
