PHOTOS: Police Arrest Nine Suspects, Cracking Down On Drug Activity

VERNON PARISH, La. – There were numerous arrests made by the Vernon Parish Sheriff Narcotics Task Force, state police and the Beauregard Narcotics Task Force regarding  investigations centered on several drug operations around Pikin and DeRidder.

Police conducted a drug trafficking investigation of large quantities of methamphetamine into Vernon Parish from out of state.

Authorities say they the one-year investigation led to the arrest of six local people in July who they believed to be involved in narcotics operations. 

Police say the following suspects are responsible for exchanging large amounts of cash for methamphetamine and transporting drug into Vernon Parish:

Kristine Deason, 31, of Pitkin was arrested on one count of criminal conspiracy on July 13. The bond was set at $ 25,000. Deason did post bond and was released.

Bradley Deason, 32, of Pitkin was arrested on two counts of distribution of schedule II narcotics and one count of criminal conspiracy on July 14. The bond was set at $ 65,000.  Deason did post bond and was released.

Kirk Deason, 39, of Pitkin was arrested on one count of criminal conspiracy and one count of resisting an officer on July 25. The bond was set at $25,550. Police say Deason remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

Alton Shane Brown, 34, of Deridder was arrested on one count of criminal conspiracy on July 31. The bond was set at $ 25,000. Brown posted bond and was released.

Brandon Keith Chisholm, 30, of Deridder was arrested and charged with one count of criminal conspiracy on July 31. The bond was set at $ 25,000. Chisholm posted bond and was released.

Kenneth Bernice Maricle, 40, of Pitkin was arrested and charged with one count of criminal conspiracy on July, 31. The bond was set at $ 25,000.  Maricle posted bond and was released.

Authorities also say additional arrests are expected in this investigation.

In addition, deputies made three other drug-related arrests in early August.

Police arrested and charged Henry Suydam, 52, of Pitkin with one count of operation of a clandestine laboratory and one count of criminal conspiracy. The bond was set at $20,000. Suydam remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

Travaris Antoine Tanner, 31, of Talladega, Ala. was arrested by deputies and agents with the Vernon Narcotics Task Force. Tanner was charged with one count of distribution of crack cocaine due to a separate investigation in which Tanner is suspected of selling crack to an undercover officer. The bond was set at $ 10,000. Tanner posted bond and was released.

Randall D. Beebe, 23, of New Llano was arrested after a routine traffic stop. Beebe was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was arrested and charged with one count of possession of marijuana in the second offense. Beebe remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.
