ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Rapides Parish Police Jury voted Monday afternoon to accept updated millage rates for the year.
Every four years, private property in the parish is re-assessed and millage rates are set according to its value. Based on that re-assessment, the property values were lower than last year, so the millage rates in most districts were increased.
These new rates must be approved by the legislative auditor before they take effect.
