Leesville Suspect Caught

Posted: Updated:

LEESVILLE, La. - The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Samuel "Sam" Blackmon, 42, of Deridder and charged him with three counts of obscenity and set a bond of $75,000.

Blackmon remains in the Vernon Parish Jail on Monday night. Authorities say a hold has been placed on Blackmon from the Deridder Police Department.

Police say they received an official complaint on last week from two women who said Blackmon exposed himself in a sexual manner inside a local restaurant.

According to reports, the women said while inside the restaurant, they did see his behavior and took a photograph of him using a cell telephone.

Authorities say the photograph was posted on a popular social networking website, which ultimately concerned residents who were able to identify him.

Detectives did obtain surveillance video from the restaurant which did confirm Blackmon's presence, according to police reports. Investigators say the incident took place while other patrons were present inside the restaurant, including small children.

The warrants were issued and Blackmon was later arrested, charged and transported from the Leesville City Jail to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office on Aug. 3 where he was arrested by Vernon Parish detectives.
