Discussion
Today, a ridge of high pressure is over the area and providing a typical
summertime pattern for today. There is a cold front to our NW that is moving in
our direction. Tomorrow, that front will push through and we will see increased
rain chances for the area. This ridge of high pressure will break down as the
cold front moves into the area. The tail end of this front will move over our
area and rain chances will be a little lower than other areas that are being
affected by this system. The good news is that we will see temperatures drop to
the lower 90's for a couple of days as this system moves through the area. So,
for today, expect low rain chances. Overnight we will start to see gradually
increasing clouds and rising rain chances in advance of this front. Another
round of AM fog is possible Thursday morning.
For the rest of the day
Expect partly to mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with low rain chances
returning later this afternoon and going into the evening. Temperatures for
most of the viewing area will climb well in to the 90's with a light to
moderate and variable wind. Humidity will once again be high, putting Heat
Index values in the 100-105 range. Only a third of the viewing area is expected
to see any rain today. This will come in the form of your garden variety, afternoon
pulse storm. These are typical during this time of the year.
For the rest of the 7day planner
Through the end of the week, we will see higher rain chances as a cold front
moves through the area with the highest chance tomorrow (in advance of the
front). Friday, expect AM rain chances, followed by clearing skies and a
slightly cooler temperature. Come the weekend, expect to see the regular
summertime pattern to set back up. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, Highs
in the 90's (feeling like 100-105) and low rain chances. Conditions will remain
that way throughout the remainder of the 7day planer.
TODAY...Patchy
early fog and haze. Otherwise, mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with hot and
humid conditions and a slight (30%) chance for showers and thunderstorms. Highs
93-99. The peak heat index may reach 105. SW wind, becming South 2-10mph.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Fair skies and muggy. Lows 71-77.
South wind 2-8 mph.
