Man Drives To Jail After Pursuit

Posted: Updated:

CADDO PARISH, La. - The Caddo Sheriff's Office released surveillance video of a man who ended up at the correctional center following a police pursuit Wednesday.

Bobby Parks drove his pick-up truck into the lot of the Caddo Correctional Center, where Shreveport patrol cars were close behind.

Moments later, the video shows Parks running through the door of the Caddo Correctional Center past several people with Shreveport police officers hot on his trail.

Authorities say Parks ran all the way back to an administrative area that's restricted from the public, and that's where Shreveport police caught him and he surrendered.

Parks, 40, was taken back to the Shreveport City Jail where he was booked for flight and as a fugitive on the warrants. He is expected to be transferred back to correctional center on Wednesday night.

He faces three theft charges on the two warrants for failing to pay several area businesses for auto repair services. The total loss from the thefts was $8,748, according to police reports.

Edmondson said Parks will likely face two more theft charges for purchasing $2,600 worth of tires with a check from a closed account, and for failing to provide tires to a person who paid him $340.
