ALEXANDRIA, La. – Due to additional funding, the Youth Challenge Program at Camp Beauregard can continue to be a success, officials say.
YCP brought in more than 500 kids between the ages of 16 and 18 from across the state to the program in 2011. Many of those kids are from Alexandria and surrounding areas.
Capt. Jackie Manton says that the core values being taught, such as leadership and discipline, help the program keep an 80 percent success rate among the young cadets.
