ALEXANDRIA, La. - An Alexandria doctor has received a very special award.
Dr. Jonathan Hunter of the Brian Clinic in Alexandria has been named the Family Physician of the Year for the state of Louisiana.
He was honored last weekend at a ceremony in San Destin, Fla. Each year, the award is given to one physician in the state for their dedication to patients and to family medicine.
Hunter was nominated by colleagues, patients and community leaders, which is a humble honor to receive, he said.
