ALEXANDRIA, La. -- It was big night for the Hope House at Tunk's Cypress Inn.

The organization held it's 23rd annual lobster dinner and silent auction on Sunday.

The Hope House of Central Louisiana provides a safe shelter and services for homeless women and their children.

And, the group certainly did get some support. Local celebrity waiters served a sold out crowd for hours.

"The support for this event each year has grown," said Sandy Ray, CEO of the Hope House. "Tonight is no exception. We have had a sold out crowd for two weeks. We're just excited to have everybody here and share in this wonderful event for this worthy cause."

It was also a big night for Hope House CEO, Sandy Ray. Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy proclaimed August 12 "Sandy Ray Day" for all of her charitable efforts.
