Overview
Today there is a Low Pressure System over the NE
U.S. and Great Lakes Region with a front stretched South, along the Atlantic
Coast and back into the SE U.S. The tail end of this front extends through the
SE U.S. In the wake of this front, a ridge of High Pressure will be building
in.
In the Tropics, eyes are fixed on two
different areas of interest in the Atlantic Basin.

Discussion
Today, a cold front continues to gradually move through SE Louisiana. In the wake
of this front, skies are remaining mostly sunny to partly cloudy with only a
slight chance for lingering showers as a ridge of High Pressure begins to build
into the area. This high pressure will remain in place through much of the week,
until the next front makes it to the area. That next front should be in our
area by the end of the week. As this front gets closer, expect winds to swing
around to the South and humidity to return into the forecast.
For the rest of the day
Expect plenty of sunshine with In & Out cloud cover through the afternoon.
There will also be a slight chance for Isolated Showers and a few
thunderstorms. However, rain chances will remain low. Conditions will become
more seasonable today and for the next couple of days. This means that it will
become Hot & Humid again, with Temperatures in the 90's and expected heat
index values ranging from 100-105 with a light and variable wind and low rain
chances.
For the rest of the 7day planner
Through Thursday, expect to see seasonable conditions as this ridge of high
pressure remains anchored over the area, in the wake of our latest front. By
Friday skies will gradually fill in and rain chances will go up with the
advance of our next front. This front will elevate rain chances through the
weekend and into the beginning of the work week. As rain chances go up and clouds
increase, high temps will begin to go down, settling around 90 by Saturday.
TODAY...Expect mostly sunny to partly
cloudy skies and hot with a stray shower or thunderstorm. Highs 93-99. The heat
index could reach 105. SW wind 3-15mph.
TUESDAY
NIGHT...Fair to partly cloudy skies and muggy. Lows 71-77. A light and variable
wind.
