Fort Polk Man Arrested

Posted: Updated:

VERNON PARISH, La.--A Fort Polk man is accused of indecent behavior with a minor while online.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office says they were contacted by the Franklin Police Department in St. Mary Parish about 22-year-old Zachary Stephens of Fort Polk.

Franklin Police told investigators that, along with the Louisiana Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, they were investigating Stephens.

They said Stephens had been contacting a 16-year-old female online, and his behavior was sexual in nature.

Vernon Parish Detectives said they made the arrest at Stephens' home.

Deputies say they searched the home and took a lap top computer, computer components, electronic storage devices, and cellular telephones into evidence.

Stephens was booked into the VPSO jail and faces charges of two counts of Indecent Behavior with a juvenile, one count of Attempted Possession of Pornography Involving a Juvenile, and two counts of Computer Aided Solicitation of Minors for Sexual Purposes.

There was no bond set on the warrants as Stephens will be required to appear before a judge in St. Mary Parish for a bond hearing.

He was transported back to St. Mary Parish by the Franklin Police Department.
