RAPIDES PARISH, La.--Final preparations are underway in Rapides Parish for the first day of school, which is Friday.
Two teachers at Rugg Elementary have spent the past month getting their rooms ready to welcome the students.
Their theme for this school year is "the Muppets."
All of the characters, letters and even some of the décor was created by hand.
It's all part of a plan to create an enhanced learning experience.
