Posted: Updated:

CATAHOULA PARISH, La--Early Friday morning, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Jena, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 4:30 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 126 at Fish Fin Road.

The crash involved a 2003 Chevrolet pickup, driven by 32-year-old Jason K. Adams. The Chevrolet was west bound on LA Hwy 126 when Troopers say Adams lost control and exited the left side of the roadway.

After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree.

Adams was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the extensive damage to the driver's area of the vehicle, Troopers say they were unable to determine if Adams was wearing his seatbelt.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.  The crash remains under investigation.
