Nine Arrested in Undercover Sting

ALEXANDRIA, LA. -Nine people in the Alexandria area were arrested and are facing charges of possession and or distribution of various illegal substances.

They were arrested as part of an under-cover operation by the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office. Detectives compared known drug trafficking areas with frequent phone call complaints in order to decide which areas to target.

According to Sheriff William Earl Hilton this is one more example of how the department is helping keep CenLa neighborhoods safe, "This is just one more example of how the community is working with Law Enforcement to take back their neighborhoods and we want the community's involvement."

The following subjects were arrested during this operation:

Arrestee: Morgan Iles Jr., 44, 4737 Natchez Street, Alexandria, La

Charges: Possession of CDS III to Distribute (Hydrocodone)

Arrestee: Stephanie Denise Balthazar, 42, 3635 6th Street, Alexandria, La

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Arrestee: Derrick Charles Bayonne, 29, 3308 Willow Glen River Rd., Alexandria

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Arrestee: Gerald Wayne Bryant, 44, 3030 Wise Street, Alexandria, La

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Possession of CDS I/Marijuana

Arrestee: John Bady, 57, 910 Cheney Street, Alexandria, LA

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Arrestee: Willie Lee Sanders, 29, 401 Williamson Street, Alexandria, La

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Arrestee: Velma Louise Charles, 31, 102 Cottage Street, Alexandria, La

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Arrestee: Grace Ann Jenkins, 29, 109 N. 15th Street, Alexandria, LA

Charges: Distribution of CDS II (Crack Cocaine)

Arrestee: Daytreon Delshaun Benjamin, 27, 2442 Alma Street, Alexandria, LA

Charges: Distribution CDS I (Marijuana)
