Suspect On the Loose

LARTO, La. - This afternoon, NewsChannel 5/CBS 2 has identified the suspect in connection to the Larto triple homicide in Catahoula Parish who is still being sought by police.

Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, Jonesville Police Department, U.S. Marshals are investigating several areas in Larto for Lee John Ponthieux, Jr., the suspect in the shooting, who police is saying is an ex-convict of Avoyelles Parish.

NewsChannel 5's Brooke Buford was on the scene in Larto Monday and says that Annie Bell Adams, 74, Edris Ellard, 51 and John Ellard, Jr., 45 were found dead at 975 Moody Road.

Adams, the mother of Edris, was found inside the home, while Edris along with her husband, John, were found outside.

According to police reports, a disturbance call was received around 3 a.m. Monday. Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at the house where they found the victims' bodies. Police will not say how they died.

Police also found a Honda motorcycle belonging to Ponthieux on the side of a roadway.

Ponthieux was last seen wearing jeans and a grey shirt, and police say he is armed and dangerous. Authorities also say that he is possibly traveling on foot, and is believed to still be in the Larto area.
