VERNON PARISH, La.—A Leesville woman has been arrested, after officers say she went ‘doctor shopping' to get narcotics so she could sell them.
Agents from the Vernon Narcotics Task Force arrested 32-year-old Dycie O. Havens, of Leesville, after they say they received numerous complaints that Havens was illegally dispensing prescription narcotics in the Leesville area.
Investigators say they learned that Havens was ‘doctor shopping, 'traveling to various physicians and obtaining narcotic medication which she would in turn sell to other individuals.
Agents say at the time of Havens' arrest, she had a prescription bottle for Hydrocodone which contained 29 pills.
Investigators say the prescription had been filled minutes before for a quantity of 110 pills.
Havens was booked into the VPSO jail on one count of Distribution of Schedule III narcotics, one count of Distribution of Schedule IV narcotics, and one count of Possession of Schedule III with the Intent to Distribute.
Havens remains in jail on a bond was set at $ 65,000.00.
