Overview
Today, a ridge of High Pressure is still
extended over our area. This high pressure system is stretched over much of the
eastern half of the nation. In the Central Plains, Low Pressure System is
continuing to develop.
In the Tropics, eyes are fixed on three different areas of interest in the
Atlantic Basin, to include Tropical Storms Isaac & Joyce.

Discussion
Today, we are still under the influence of a ridge of high pressure that has
brought pleasant conditions to our area for the past couple of days will be in
place once again. This ridge will begin
to break down and move East during the overnight hours. As this ridge moves out
a Southeasterly flow will return to our area. Conditions will then return to a
typical summertime pattern. This will help bring Humidity values up, coupled
with rising rain chances and warmer temperatures. So, these comfortable conditions that we have been seeing will not be
around for much longer.
For the rest of the day
Expect plenty of sunshine with in and out cloud cover, becoming partly cloudy
skies at times. During the afternoon
hours, extremely low rain chances will be at their peak. Expect clearing this
evening. We will also see a light to moderate wind out of the East. A wind
shift will occur later tonight, when winds are light and variable. Low humidity
values will only stay on the board through the overnight hours. Once a
Southeasterly flow returns, moisture values will begin to rise.
For the rest of the 7day planner
Tomorrow, this ridge of high pressure will break down and rain chances will
return. These high rain chances will last through the weekend. Come the beginning
of the work week, expect a summertime pattern to resume. Partly cloudy skies
20-30% chance for rain and temperatures in the mid 90's with heat index values
ranging from 100-105.
Note: The extended planner is subject to change, pending the verification of
T.S. Isaac. As the storm moves along the Northern Islands of the Caribbean, a
lot can change.
TODAY...Sunny
skies with in and out, light cloud cover. Conditions will become partly cloudy
for some with low humidity values. Highs 89-95. East, becoming SE wind 5-12
mph.
THURSDAY NIGHT...Fair skies early, partly cloudy
late. A bit warmer. Lows 67-73. S/SE wind 2-6 mph.
