Moustache For The Cure

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, LA.- The Women's Life Center at Christus Cabrini Hospital is sponsoring 'Moustache for the Cure,' an event hoping to bring breast cancer awareness to men.

All you have to do to participate is show up to the hospital on Monday with a freshly shaven face and register.

After that just keep growing your moustache until September 27, when the event ends!

Moustache-growers are encouraged to get their friends and family to donate to the cause along the way to help spread the word.

"We're trying to put it in perspective. When a woman has breast cancer she goes through treatment. She loses all her hair. What's a moustache compared to what a woman goes through with breast cancer?" says event organizer Diane Kitts.

Awards will be presented for the various categories of moustaches, including fan favorite, and the baby-face award.
