MIAMI, Fla. - As Tropical Storm Isaac churns toward the United States, 20 years ago today Hurricane Andrew slammed into south Florida.
The monster storm was a category 5, and struck the tip of Florida first, then crossed the Gulf and raged ashore in south central Louisiana.
The storm is blamed for killing 25 people and it's still the third costliest hurricane in American history, requiring more than $26 billion to recover from the damage.
This year, it is a much busier hurricane season as Isaac is the ninth named storm this year.
