NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Natchitoches Police are investigating their second homicide of the year. And, they tell us, the victim is a student at Northwestern State University.
Police say they received a call Saturday morning about a shooting at Caspari and Bossier Streets.
When they got to the scene, they found a car with a man dead inside with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Police say the victim is 29-year-old Pierre Kirkendoll of Fremont, CA. They believe he had been shot while driving and crashed into another car at the intersection.
Police say he was a student at NSU, although we could not confirm his status with the school.
The driver of the other car involved in the crash was not injured.
Police say they're still looking for a suspect and the incident is still under investigation.
