ALEXANDRIA, La. – Here are the listings of area agencies and organizations that are closing due to Isaac. NewsChannel 5/CBS 2 will update this list as we receive information from officials.

  • The Baton Rouge Tea Party cancelled the Monthly Membership Meeting for Aug. 30, 2012. We are planning to reschedule the Meet and Greet Event for the Mayorial Candidates shortly.

  • Rapides Regional Physician Group clinics opens Thursday. The clinic in Pineville is located at 3200 Monroe Highway in the Kings Country Shopping Center. Its phone number is 640-3737. The clinic in Lecompte is located at 1610 Water Street. Its phone number is 776-9340.
  • Pillbox pharmacies on Third and Jackson streets will be open on Thursday.
  • Louisiana Athletic Club, both Alexandria and Pineville locations, will be closing Wednesday at 7 p.m. Reopens Thursday, Aug. 30 at 9 a.m.
  • Freedman Clinic of Internal Medicine in Alexandria will be open Thursday, Aug. 30.
  • ATRANS bus service is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30. For route service information, call 318-441-6087 or 441-6231.
  • Garbage collection for Alexandria: No collection on Thursday, Aug. 30. Remove containers from curbs. Post-storm: Separate vegetation from other debris or city will not pick up. Date for future pick ups is pending.
  • Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System (LASERS) building will remain closed through Thursday, Aug. 30. Additional closures may occur if necessary.
  • Effective immediately, the Natchez Trace Parkway has closed the Parkway Motor Road between the southern terminus at Liberty Road in Natchez, Miss., and Milepost 8.5 at Highway 61, near Washington, Miss.
  • The Food Bank of Central Louisiana will be closed on Thursday.
  • Alexandria Eye and Laser will open Thursday, Aug. 30 at 10am at 231 Windermere Blvd.; Ville Platte, 206 Jack Miller Rd.; Leesville, 1008 South 6th St.
  • LifeShare Blood Center-Closed Wed & Thurs. All blood drives canceled. Reopens at 9 a.m. Fri. Needs all types of blood.
  • 33rd Judicial District Court Judges' offices closed Wednesday and Thursday.
  • All branches of Evangeline bank will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Progressive Waste/IESI will not run any residential garbage routes on Thursday in Vernon or Beauregard Parishes.
  • LSU will remain closed through Thursday, August 30. The LSU Child Care Center, the LSU Laboratory School, the Paul M. Hebert Law Center and the LSU Agricultural Center's Baton Rouge offices will also be closed.
  • The Pets & People Therapy Animals of Cenla is canceling it's volunteer orientation, scheduled for Thursday.
  • The clinics operated by the Rapides Regional Physician Group will close at noon Wednesday and will be closed on Thursday.
  • Classes at the Dance Factory in Mansura will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Will resume Monday.
  • Community HealthWorx, the free local medical clinic and free pharmacy, will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 29. Schedule to reopen on Thursday, Aug. 30
  • Laurel Hill Baptist Church has canceled all services/revival this week.
  • The Rapides Parish Courthouse will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 29. Reopens Friday. Closed Monday for Labor Day.
  • Rapides Parish Police Jury offices will be closed Aug. 29, says Oliver Overton.   
  • First Baptist Church W.E.E. Center closed on Wednesday.
  • The Natchez Trace Parkway will close the Mount Locust Site immediately onTuesday, Aug. 28.
  • Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino has canceled racing for Wednesday, Aug. 29 and plan to resume Thursday Aug. 30.
  • The Elderly Meal Site in Avoyelles, Catholic, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides and Winn Parishes will be closed Wednesday and Thursday. 
  • Rapides Council On Aging, Inc. will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 29 and Thursday, Aug. 30.  All services will resume on Friday, Aug. 31.  All Home Delivered Meals will be delivered on Friday, Aug. 31.
  • All locations of the Rapides Parish Library will be closed all day Aug. 29 and 30, 2012.  All Library locations hope to open at their regularly scheduled times on Friday, Aug. 31. The Rapides Parish Library website is www.rpl.org.
  • Rapides Regional Medical Center: Beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Rapides Regional Medical Center will allow access to its facility only through the Emergency Department entrance. All other doors will be locked. Visiting hours will continue until 9 p.m. Parking's in Lot A and the Rapides Parish Garage. Normal hours will start Thursday at 6 a.m. It is not anticipating it will have to postpone any medical procedures scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday. The Outpatient Center will also remain open. In addition, the Rapides After Hours urgent care clinic in Pineville will be open its normal operating hours, which are from 1-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Rapides Regional Medical Center website www.rapidesregional.com and the hospital's Facebook account will have updates as necessary.
  • The United Way Kickoff scheduled for Tuesday at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center has been canceled.
  • There will be no lessons Wednesday and Thursday (August 29-30) at Calvary Baptist Church Conservatory of Music.
  • A public meeting planned for Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. for the Louisiana Workers' Compensation Medical Advisory Council has been canceled.
  • The Army Corps of Engineers is currently closing the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal Surge Barrier at the Vulcan construction site on Intracoastal Drive. 
  • Baton Rouge - LSU Health's statewide network of hospitals will remain open and ready to treat emergencies during and after the storm.  Each hospital has discharged non-critical patients, canceled elective surgeries and increased staff and services as needed in preparation for Hurricane Isaac. However, there are temporary closures of some outpatient clinics and services at the following locations:
  • Earl K. Long Medical Center – Baton Rouge- will discontinue all elective surgeries and close outpatient clinics on Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30.  EKLMC will resume normal operations on Friday, Aug. 31.
  • Hematology Oncology Life Center in Alexandria will be closed Thursday, Aug. 30 and open Friday, Aug. 31.
  • The Interim LSU Public Hospital - New Orleans -will discontinue all elective surgeries and close outpatient clinics on Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30.  The Interim LSU Public Hospital will resume normal operations on Friday, Aug. 31, at 7a.m.
  • Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center- Independence - has canceled all outpatient clinics, elective surgeries, chemotherapy infusion and is on surgery diversion for Tuesday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 29.  LKRMC will resume normal operations on Thursday, Aug. 30, beginning at 7 a.m.
  • Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center – Houma- has canceled all outpatient clinics and elective surgeries for Tuesday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 29.  LJCMC will resume normal operations on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7a.m.
  • LSU Bogalusa Medical Center - Bogalusa – will discontinue all elective surgeries and will close clinics effective 7 a.m., Tuesday Aug. 28, through Wednesday, Aug. 29. LSU BMC will resume normal operations on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7 a.m.
  • University Medical Center – Lafayette – All outpatient clinics and elective surgeries are canceled Wednesday, Aug. 29. The hospital will resume normal operations on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7a.m.
  • Walter O. Moss Regional Medical Center – Lake Charles – All services are operational.
