Pastor Shot On Bolton Avenue

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. – According to officials, a man who has been identified as a pastor was allegedly shot Monday morning. The shooting happened around 7 a.m. Monday morning at the man's office on Bolton Avenue.

According to witnesses, a victim identified as Gene Decker, works as both a pastor in Wardville and a painter.

They said he was at this warehouse where he stores his painting supplies when he was shot. Witnesses also say there was a second man who was also assaulted.

Earlier today, police were out searching a home and overgrown lot across the street from the shooting scene.

This is about a mile away from the area where two priests were attacked in the St. Rita Rectory on Friday.

NewsChannel 5 made an attempt to contact the Alexandria Police Department for information about this case, but they haven't returned our phone call.

Currently, there is no word on how the victims are doing or if there are any suspects in the case.
