Posted: Updated:

PINEVILLE, La. - The Pineville Police Department arrested Mahogany Johnson, 28, of 96 Cook Street in Alexandria after she and another woman fled Wal-Mart with stolen TVs and other merchandise.

Johnson, the driver of the getaway vehicle, was charged with aggravated flight from an officer, felony theft, two counts of resisting an officer, and driver must be licensed.

Police is still searching for the other suspect, Marquilla Jones, 25, of 205 North Lexington Street in Bunkie on Thursday night.

According to police reports, a Wal-Mart manager said two women left the store with merchandise Wednesday night that included televisions and computers without paying and loaded the stolen items into a vehicle.

When police arrived in the area, a traffic stop was attempted, but the suspects refused to stop for the officer. The women led police on a chase through Pineville to Jones Street where the driver slowed the vehicle and both women exited the vehicle while it was still moving.

The officer was able to catch Johnson, but lost sight of the Jones, the passenger in the vehicle.
