Overview
A ridge of High Pressure is anchored over our region. A cold front is stretched
from the Great Lakes Region, through the Central Plains and into the Southern
Plains. This front is producing a lot of heavy rainfall and a slight risk for
severe weather to parts of the Northern half of the nation. In the wake of this
front is a strong ridge of high pressure and some cool, dry and dense Canadian
air.

Discussion
For the rest of the day and overnight, out weather will be under the influence
of a High Pressure Ridge. As usual, this high pressure will bring with it clear
skies (with only a few light clouds), a warming trend and Light & Variable
winds with low rain chances. These conditions will break down as a cold front
moves into the area.
For the rest of the day
Expect to see plenty of sunshine with a few clouds possible throughout the
afternoon hours. Conditions will become partly cloudy with increasing clouds
and rising rain chances, late. Highs will rise well into the 90's and Heat Index
values will range from 105-110. Winds will be light to moderate and variable. Overnight,
there will be a fair chance for showers and thunderstorms as the tail end of a
cold front moves through the area.
For the rest of the 7day planner
Through Saturday, expect to see the tail end of this front to move through the
area. This will bring with it, a chance for scattered showers and
thunderstorms. We will then see clearing In & Out cloud cover on Saturday
with some rain chances hanging around and cooler temperatures. Starting Sunday
we will see clear skies and cooler temperatures. However, through today,
conditions will be HOT & HUMID with Heat Index values ranging from 105-110. If you spend an extended amount time in the
sun today, drink plenty of water.
TODAY...Mostly sunny with In & Out clouds,
becoming partly cloudy with a slight chance for afternoon rain. Highs 94-100.
Heat Index values 102-108. Calm, SE wind 2-10mph.
FRIDAY
NIGHT...Partly cloudy skies, with increasing clouds and rising rain chances
late tonight in advance of an approaching cold front. Lows in the 70's with a
chance (30%) for showers and thunderstorms. South, becoming West wind 2-8mph.
