BATON ROUGE, La. - The LSU Board of Supervisors is looking at privatizing Huey P. Long and other hospitals in the state system.
The board voted to get proposals for a public and private partnership to operate Huey P. Long, along with hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe.
The hospitals are being squeezed by Medicaid cuts and shrinking budgets. Officials say the proposal to privatize should be developed in a couple of months.
