ALEXANDRIA, La. - The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department has arrested a fugitive wanted for second-degree murder.
The sheriff's office says that the St. Landry SWAT team, with the help of other law enforcement agencies, found Carl Phillips of Lafayette hiding in a trailer early Thursday morning in St. Landry Parish.
Investigators say Phillips was wanted for the death of a Baton Rouge man who was shot in the chest in Lafayette.
Phillips was booked as a fugitive at the parish sheriff's office and then taken to the Lafayette Sheriff's Office for further booking.
