Cenla saw scattered showers and thunderstorms again Thursday. The pattern was late-developing, with most of the action after 4PM. The primary trigger for the rain was old outflow boundaries from previous convection. Because of the late timing, it was difficult for me to pinpoint the locations of the best rains, however, it appears Sabine and Grant Parishes are going to be the winners. Many measured 0.81 inches and Colfax was having a heavy thunderstorm and probably easily got one-half inch.
Rain chances continue all the way through next Tuesday. Two cold fronts will keep the weather a bit unsettled. The first front creeps in this weekend, probably Saturday night or Sunday. The second, and stronger, front arrives Tuesday. Comfortable temperatures and lower humidity will follow the second front for the middle and latter part of next week.
I'll post again Friday.
