Top Aide Leaving Jacques Roy's Staff

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. — Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy said Friday afternoon in an official statement that his Chief of Staff Kay Michiels will leave his administration for another job opportunity.

"It is with regret, pride, and happiness that I am announcing my top assistant, friend, and stalwart partner will be departing public life for an opportunity she cannot pass up in the private sector," Roy wrote. "As in the past, I encourage my division heads and chiefs when these opportunities come along and take particular pride seeing them sought out by the best in the public and private sector after sojourns here.  In each case, they have moved up and I applaud them."

Roy said TW Thompson will assume the role of chief of staff.  In addition, the mayor said there will be some other staffing changes.
