RAPIDES PARISH, La. -- Former Rapides Parish Superintendent Gary Jones has a new job.
In this week's State Department of Education weekly newsletter it was announced that Jones will stay in the education field and serve as special liaison to superintendents.
He recently resigned his position as superintendent after his contract wasn't renewed by the school board.
The search for a new superintendent in the parish is still underway. The school board hopes to have someone in place by the end of the year.
