KALB-TV's anchor/reporter Crystal Whitman is an experienced broadcast journalist who has worked at television stations in Michigan and Arkansas before returning home to Louisiana.
 
The Louisiana native worked at KTBS-TV, a television station in Shreveport and KTAL-TV before joining KALB-TV in 2012.
 
While in Shreveport, she covered First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to the area, and interviewed a number of political figures, the most recent of whom was former Sen. Rick Santorum, during his campaign for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
 
A journalism graduate of Northwestern State University, Crystal also studied at the University of Maryland.  While in college, Crystal won two local beauty pageants within the Miss America Organization.  She has an extensive record of service to the community, and often serves as master of ceremonies for area charitable organizations.  In addition, she is a member of the ALS Association Louisiana.
