ALEXANDRIA, La. - The deal to build new housing and retail space at the Old Hodges Stockyard property on Third Street in Alexandria has hit a bump in the road.
The project did not get the tax credits developer David Strange hoped to receive, which means the housing portion of the project is off the table for now. This is the second attempt to complete phase two of the development which included building more upscale apartments as well as retail stores.
But Mayor Jacques Roy says they will to continue working on a plan to develop the retail portion of the property.
