An early fall weather pattern followed Tuesday night's cold front into Cenla. Most locations fell into the 50s Wednesday morning as the cooler and drier air settled in. The lowest temperatures came from Winnfield with 51 and Jena with 52. DeRidder and Opelousas saw the highest readings Wednesday morning with 61 degrees.
Despite uninterrupted sunshine, the normal daytime temperature rise was a bit sluggish. At some points, the min-to-max turn around was only 15-20 degrees. The average high was about 80 degrees. The low humidity made for a comfortable day.
Temperatures Wednesday night are expected to fall to their lowest level since late April. A few upper 40s look likely in the Winnfield-Olla-Jena corridor as well as the Natchez, Miss. area and portions of Vernon Parish and eastern Grant Parish. Everyone I talked to said "bring it on."
Special note: Fall officially begins at 9:49 AM SDT, Saturday, September 22nd.
Enjoy!
