Alexandria Wins Gold At SONIC

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY – All Dr Pepper SONIC Games medalists were recognized at SONIC's National Convention held in San Antonio in the days following the competition.

The nine-month, Olympic-style competition enhances job satisfaction, motivates and encourages employees to take pride in their careers at SONIC Drive-In. More than 2,500 drive-ins participated in the 19th Annual Dr Pepper SONIC Games.

Sara Cook from the Alexandria SONIC Drive-In located is the cream of the SONIC crewmember crop.

Recently, Cook won the Switchboard bronze medal at the 2012 Dr Pepper SONIC Games National Finals in San Antonio. The games are an innovative crew-retention and incentive program that showcases the best of the best among SONIC crewmembers.

As a Final 12 crew, the Alexandria SONIC competed against 11 drive-ins from across the nation in team competition and Sara competed against 11 other individuals as part of Switchboard (service delivery) category.

"We're incredibly proud of Sara," said Nicole Gregory of the Alexandria SONIC Drive-In. "She and our entire crew invested months of hard work and dedication throughout this nine-month competition – and it showed first by our making it to the Finals and now with Sara's achievement."

The Dr Pepper SONIC Games National Finals were held Sept. 10-11 in San Antonio. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in six individual categories: Carhop (food delivery), Fountain (drink preparation), Switchboard, Dresser, Grill and Swamp (food preparation).
