Sutherland Global Delays Opening

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. -- Sutherland Global Services, the international call company that was supposed to open its doors earlier this year, is holding yet another job fair.

Sutherland held a mystery job fair earlier this year to recruit employees and was supposed to open this summer. That date has now been pushed back to the end of the year, they say because they still need more people.

Officials say they still need more employees. So, they're hosting two more job fairs.

The company says they're still planning on coming to Cenla. So, if you didn't get a call back from the first fair, you're asked to come to the new ones.

"They want to be operational before the end of the year," said Rick Ranson with CLEDA. "That's why the big push to hire. They've gotten some new clients, so they're going to need employees. They've got their renovations just about finished and they're ready to open the doors. Immediately they're going to train people and they'll go into operation before the end of the year."

Sutherland's hopes to hire 300 additional employees. For more information and to print out an application, log on to centrallouisiana.org.
