Hixson Takes the Wheel for Hunger

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. - Hixson Ford "took the wheel" for hunger today, offering a donation to the Food Bank for every customer who text drove a new Ford.

Hixson autoplex teamed up with the food bank of central Louisiana to offer you a chance to get behind the wheel of a brand new ford.

You get behind the wheel, and Hixson made a $20 donation to the Food Bank.

From SUVs to sedans, all the new Fords and Lincolns were on display.

Organizers say it's the right time to help Cenla's hungry.

"It's a way to bring our community together," says Bobbie Sillavan of Hixson. "And the need, especially with all the holidays coming up. People need food here in Central Louisiana. So please, again, everybody come out and support your community for Food Bank."

The Food Bank of Central Louisiana distributes food and groceries to needy families in eleven parishes.
