Warm weather continued in Cenla Monday as a flat ridge of high pressure aloft persisted. Low temperatures Monday morning ranged through the 60s with most afternoon highs in the 90s. The highest temperatures came from Ville Platte with 94 degrees and Anacoco with 93. The 30-year average high temperatures for late September are in the middle 80s.
The ridge of high pressure will hold for most of the upcoming week, so expect the early fall warm spell to continue. By the weekend, a cold front will be poised to move into the area and that will bring the chance of rain Friday through Monday. Lower temperatures, particularly daytime highs, will follow this front Sunday and Monday.
I'll post an update Tuesday.
