
BARATARIA BAY, Gulf of Mexico — An oil platform caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday. The U.S. Coast Guard is among other agencies investigating the incident.
Authorities say the W&T offshore platform caught fire at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. The rig is 29 miles south of Terrebonne Parish. Coast guard officials say the platform has been evacuated and three workers are being treated for minor injuries. They also say there is light oil sheen on the water as a result of the fire.
