Deputies Find Sex Suspect

Posted: Updated:

PINEVILLE, La. - The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a 31-year-old man who is suspected of being involved in inappropriate relationships involving juveniles.

During the investigation, RPSO detectives discovered that Jeffrey Neil Gibson had warrants for his arrest which included three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, three counts of sexual battery and six counts of felony carnal knowledge.

Upon learning of the investigation and warrants for his arrest, Gibson fled the area. This prompted detectives to have the warrants entered into the National Crime Information Center database.

Detectives continued their search for Gibson, which eventually spanned approximately two and a half years. During this time, they received information from sources placing Gibson in Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina.

On Sept. 1, Gibson was located and arrested by police in Ashville, N.C.

Gibson was later taken into custody by deputies and transported back to Rapides Parish where he was booked for the charges. Currently, Gibson is being detained at the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $600,000 bond.
