Discussion
As this Low Pressure System and cold front move closer to our area, expect
increasing clouds and rising rain chances. Showers and thunderstorms started
around midday, today. They will increase and last through the weekend. In
total, this weekend's rain event will bring 1-2" of new rainfall to the area.
So, this much needed rain will be good for us. However it will not be good for
the Several outdoor activities that are planned throughout the area. As of noon
today, it looks like there will only be a chance for a few scattered showers
and thunderstorms tonight for the HS Football games.
For the rest of the day
Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with In & Out cloud cover and rising
rain chances. There will be a fair chance (40%) for rain.
That means that less than half of our
viewing area (40%) will see some rainfall.
Winds will begin to pick up a little speed and remain light to moderate and
out of the South and East. Conditions will be muggy and areas that see rain
today will have slightly cooler high temperatures. Otherwise, highs will be in
the upper 80's and lower 90's with a muggy feel. Cloud cover and rain chances
will remain a factor throughout the overnight hours as this front continues to
approach the area.
For the rest of the 7day planner
A cold front will push through the area and bring a wet weekend for Cenla. In
the wake of this system, the beginning of the work week will bring with it,
clearing skies and slightly cooler temperatures. So, a couple of days with a
good bit of rain, followed by sunny skies, cooler temps and lower rain chances
on Tuesday.
TODAY...Expect partly cloudy skies with In
& Out Cloud cover, becoming mostly cloudy skies with rising rain chances in
advance of a cold front. Highs 86-92. Calm, becoming SE wind 2-12mph
FRIDAY NIGHT...
Increasing clouds and continued rain chances, ahead of an approaching cold
front. Lows 67-73. Light & Variable wind. Rain chance 20%
