NATCHITOCHES – Mitch Landry and Sarah Emory lead the pack as the Northwestern State cross country teams prepare to host Northwestern State Invitational on Monday.
NSU will go up against Grambling, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana College, Centenary College, Louisiana Tech's women's team and Arlington Baptist's men's team.
The meet will take place at 4 p.m. at the Demon Hills Golf Course. The men will run an 8,000-meter race while the women take on a 6,000-meter course.
Landry has led the men's team in all three meets this season. Most recently, he finished 12th at the Louisiana Tech Mook 4 Invitational, finishing the 6,400-meter course in 20:14.
Emory has been at the front of the women's pack in the last two meets. She finished sixth at the La Tech Mook 4 Invitational, running the 4,000-meter race in 13:21.
Both NSU teams take a week off before traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. on Oct. 13 to run in the Arkansas Chile Pepper Invitational.
