John White To Visit Cenla High School

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. — State Superintendent John C. White will visit Holy Savior Menard Central High School on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m.

The visit comes as White heads back on the road as part of the Louisiana Believes Statewide Listen and Learn tour.  The tour will take White to district, charter and scholarship schools in 26 parishes.

"We are excited to host Superintendent White," says Principal Joel Desselle. "The mantra of Holy Savior Menard is rooted in the Catholic education traditions of academic excellence, faith development and service. Those principles have guided our faculty and students to academic success for 120 years and we are delighted to share our successes with the state superintendent."

While at Menard, White will take the opportunity to observe classes and use the Compass rubric to informally rate teacher performance. Compass requires the performance evaluation of all educators to be based on measures of student growth that take into account starting points and other variables that might influence actual performance outcomes.
