ALEXANDRIA, La.—Breast cancer survivors, women going through treatment and their families got together at Cabrini Hospital Friday for the annual pink balloon launch.

It's the 6th year for the balloon launch on the grounds of the Women and Children's Center.

Survivors on hand, shared stories of their battles and doctors explained the importance of mammograms.

At the end of the ceremony -- dozens of pink balloons were released in support of breast cancer awareness.

After the ceremony, those in attendance had the chance to sign up for the Komen Cenla Race for the Cure, which will take place Saturday, October 20th.
